GRE

GRE stands for ‘The Graduate Record Examination’. GRE exam is taken for the purpose of admission into English speaking countries. Students opting to study in USA and European countries apart from Australia have to clear GRE exam. It’s a standardized test which has been created and managed by Educational Testing Service (or ETS). GRE exam is conducted online. Various testing centers all over the world conduct this exam. To the benefits of the candidates, many testing sites are available in many states. It’s important to note that, candidates should register themselves before taking the graduate record examination. Ideally, it’s better if management aspirants register themselves quite a while before actually taking the exams. That increases the chances of getting the desires date. Candidates have also benefited with advent of online registration facility. The procedure involves filling up the registration form. One needs to register six weeks ahead of the exam date.

GRE exam pattern is based on two exams, general test and psychology test. General test aims to check students’ analytical, verbal and quantitative capabilities. Scoring excellently in these subjects is of paramount importance to get into quality management colleges abroad. The normal score range is 200-800 in quantitative and verbal tests. The scale being used in analytical tests is 0 to 6.

Subject test checks candidates’ psychological prowess. Aspirants need to have good preparation in analogies, vocabulary, reading comprehension, algebra and geometry in order to score better and enhance their chances of securing admission in top class B-schools. GRE also requires effective time management. Finally, students with great analytical and abstract thinking skills are much more likely to crack the exam.
