CAT 2008: Reading Comprehension Section- Conclusion

Few other suggestions for mastering RC:-

· Reading subjects analytically
· One should keep talking to himself while reading
· One should keep questioning himself while analyzing topic
· Whenever given a chance, Having few words with the author
· Practicing of widening ones’ eye span.
· One should learn to read in his mind than speaking aloud
· Don’t try to memorize. Try to learn and analyze.
· Keeping in check the habit of deterioration.
· Getting out of that every-word knower mindset

Apart from these few tips, students should also learn the art of time management because in the final hours, that factor proves to be utmost importance. CAT exams are designed in such a way. One must also be selective about how much to read in a particular book. One should focus on ideas hidden in the comprehension. A proper strategy would be to read the questions first and then read the passage. One must remember the questions in his mind. One important point is taking as many as mock tests possible. This increases consistency and proves very helpful. One should also strive to experiment with as many as different question tackling styles as possible. And finally, one must believe in his or her abilities. Solving the puzzle of RC is no big deal, provided one has belief and put in the required work.
